Nice place with traditional Maltese food. Good sized portions and very tasty food. Got very busy when dining there on a Saturday afternoon so staff were extra busy but still received a relatively good service.

We love ta' Kris! It's where we go when we want to be certain we are in Malta... Malta as it ought to be, that is! No fake ambience - this is IT. Authentic. Authentic in look, in feel, look, texture, and yes - even sound... even when some jovial group gets a bit too boisterous, sometimes :) It's the feeling of being home - but away from home at the same time! We had merluzz (preceded by a starter of a trio of dips) - and the merluzz looked impressinve, but everything about it was even better than its appearance - which wasn't easy to achieve! Service was, as usual, what it ever should be: offering genuine advice when requested, responding immediately when called, never invasive, discrete but sincere and respectfuly friendly - how wonderful! Dessert was a perfect end note. Oh and by the way - I appreciate the "this is Malta touch" of the bottle of Maltese mineral water, for a change - I feel it is so self-denigrating to see practically all restaurants serving only imported water.

We shared a Maltese platter and beef olives and beef stew. The two main courses had same sauce, as imagined, which was excellent. We asked for another helping of bread. The platter was very fresh and abundant. I am always very satisfied here.

The seafood salad as a starter was good the only thing was that it should have had prawns but had just a few shrimps! The fillet steaks were excellent, loved the pepper sauce. My husband would have preferred to have the mushroom sauce on the side since it was a bit cheesy and he doesn't like cheese.

Much to talk about this restaurant. And all in a positive way. Traditional Maltese food at its best. For starters we had one fusilli with aubergine and tomato sauce and another spaghetti with rabbit sauce. Sumptuous and enough to feed 3 with each plate. Then we had steaks which were served with tasty baked potatoes and pumpkin. A fruity Chilean Pinot Noir complimented the excelent food. Fast service with a big smile, by 3 ladies of different nationality I might add. A place worthy of returning for a second time!
